This is a plain-language draft published for transparency while a final, attorney-reviewed version is prepared. It reflects how reteach works today. Questions? Email support@reteachshop.com.

reteach (reteachshop.com) is operated by Noah Scott. By using the site you agree to these terms. Questions go to support@reteachshop.com.

The short version

reteach is a marketplace where teachers buy and sell classroom materials directly with each other. Sellers list their own items; buyers pay through Stripe; we hold the funds until the buyer confirms they received the item. We charge sellers a 15% fee on the item price. Be honest in your listings, only sell what you own, and treat each other like colleagues, because that's what you are.

The short version is a courtesy; the sections below are the agreement.

1. Eligibility and your account

You must be 18 or older to use reteach. You're responsible for your account and password, and for everything done through your account. Give us accurate information and keep it current. One person per account.

2. What reteach is (and isn't)

reteach is a venue. Sales are contracts between the buyer and the seller; we are not a party to them, and we don't own, inspect, or warehouse any items. We provide the listing tools, messaging, payment processing (through Stripe), and the payment-hold system described below.

3. Listings

By listing an item you promise that:

  • You personally own it.School or district property is not yours to sell, even if it lived in your classroom for a decade. If your school gave it to you, it's yours; if the school bought it and still owns it, it isn't.
  • Your description and photos are accurate, including condition and any flaws.
  • The item is legal to sell, which specifically excludes: recalled products (check cpsc.gov for children's furniture and gear), photocopied or pirated curriculum and teaching materials (reselling a used book you bought is fine; selling copies of copyrighted materials is not), weapons, hazardous materials, and anything else unlawful.

We may remove listings or suspend accounts that break these rules.

4. Buying, offers, and payment

Placing an order (or having an offer accepted and paying) is a commitment to buy. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. Stripe's own terms apply to payment processing.

The payment hold:for shipped orders, we hold the funds and release them to the seller after you confirm delivery. For local meetups, we place a hold on your card at checkout and only charge it when you confirm the handoff in person; if the meetup doesn't happen, the hold is released (automatically after about 7 days, or sooner if cancelled). This protects both sides.

5. Fees and payouts

Listing is free. When an item sells, reteach keeps a platform fee of 15% of the item price; the remainder, plus any shipping amount paid by the buyer, is paid out to the seller through Stripe Connect to their connected bank account. Sellers are responsible for their own tax obligations; Stripe provides tax documentation where required.

6. Cancellations, problems, and refunds

Our Refund Policyis part of these terms. In short: report problems within 7 days, sales of used goods are final unless the item isn't as described, and meetup holds release if the handoff doesn't happen.

7. Conduct

Don't: harass other users, spam the messaging system, take transactions off-platform to avoid fees after connecting here, misrepresent who you are, scrape the site, or interfere with its operation. We may remove content or suspend accounts for conduct that harms the community.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of your photos and listing text. You grant reteach a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and promote that content in connection with operating and marketing the marketplace (for example, showing your listing in search results or a “just listed” module).

9. Disclaimers and liability

reteach is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind and are not liable for the condition of items, the conduct of buyers or sellers, or in-person meetups. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Termination

You can close your account anytime by contacting support. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections that by their nature survive (content license, disclaimers, liability limits) survive termination.

11. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the site or by email, and continued use means acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, excluding conflict-of-law rules.
